Sir Jim Ratcliffe aims to surpass Manchester City and Liverpool to establish Manchester United as dominant force in English football

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of Manchester United, has expressed his goal of surpassing Manchester City and Liverpool in order to establish his club as the dominant force in English football. Ratcliffe's company, INEOS, has taken control of football operations at United. In his first public statement since the acquisition, Ratcliffe drew inspiration from legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, referring to their city rivals as 'noisy neighbours' and expressing his desire to knock both City and Liverpool off their perch. Ratcliffe acknowledged the success and professionalism of the two clubs but emphasized that they are still considered the enemy. He also addressed the expectations of United fans, stating that while progress will be made, it will take time to transform the club into the world's best. Ratcliffe urged supporters to be patient and highlighted the example of Pep Guardiola's gradual success at Manchester City. He expects a turnaround in United's fortunes within the next two to three years. United's next match is against Fulham in the Premier League on February 24.
