Okazaki's retirement marks the end of a successful career that has spanned multiple countries. He began his professional journey at Shimmizu S-Pulse in Japan before moving to VfB Stuttgart in 2011, where he played 85 games and scored 13 goals in a season and a half. In 2013, he joined Mainz and scored 29 goals in two seasons.

In 2015, Okazaki signed with Leicester City and was a key player in their historic Premier League title-winning campaign. After making 137 appearances and scoring 19 goals for the club, he left in 2019. He then had stints at SD Huesca and Cartagena before joining Sint-Truiden.

With his retirement, Okazaki leaves behind a legacy of success and resilience. His contributions to the teams he played for, both domestically and internationally, will be remembered. Football fans around the world salute Shinji Okazaki for his remarkable career and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
