Manchester City's Savio Transfer Under Scrutiny: Premier League and UEFA Rules

Manchester City has agreed to sign winger Savio from their sister club Troyes. However, the transfer is subject to scrutiny under the rules governing business between related clubs set by the Premier League and UEFA. The Premier League will ensure that Manchester City pays fair value for the player. The deal is expected to be examined for fair market value, considering Savio is already a City Football Group employee. The exact fee that City will pay Troyes is unclear, as the French club signed Savio in 2022 and then loaned him to Girona this season. Savio has attracted interest from other Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, with bids reportedly around £25 million. Both UEFA and the Premier League have rules in place to prevent deals between teams under the same ownership if they are deemed rivals. The Premier League has also tightened rules on related-party transactions following Saudi Arabia's takeover of Newcastle United.

Jesse Lingard Set to Join FC Seoul

Free agent Jesse Lingard is close to finalizing a two-year deal with South Korean side FC Seoul. Lingard, who left Nottingham Forest last year, has been without a club and has been actively seeking a new team. The 31-year-old midfielder has agreed to terms with FC Seoul and has completed a medical. Lingard had previously turned down an offer from Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. After unsuccessful inquiries and a lack of Premier League interest, Lingard recently changed agents.

Frank Lampard Linked with Chelsea Women's Manager Position

Frank Lampard is rumored to be a potential candidate to take over as the manager of Chelsea's women's team. The speculation comes after current manager Emma Hayes announced her departure at the end of the season to become the head coach of the USA women's team. Lampard, who has a history with Chelsea as both a player and manager, is currently unemployed and could be considered for the role. The club is actively searching for a replacement for Hayes, who has achieved significant success during her 12-year tenure.

Raphael Varane Offered Lucrative Deal by Al Nassr

Raphael Varane has been offered a contract worth up to £50 million per year to join Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr. The defender's contract with Manchester United is expiring, and the club did not activate their 12-month extension clause. Al Nassr, owned by Prince Faisal bin Turki, is keen to reunite Varane with his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. Varane, a World Cup winner, is among United's highest earners on a £340,000-a-week deal. While it remains to be seen if Varane will be tempted by a move to the Saudi Pro League, the financial rewards offered would surpass anything he has experienced in his career so far.
