Liverpool's Impressive Away Record in the Premier League Era

Liverpool's success in the Premier League era extends beyond their position at the top of the table. The club has also achieved an impressive record of winning at various stadiums across the country. Since 1992, Liverpool has triumphed at 57 out of the 61 grounds they have visited, making them the most successful team in terms of away victories. This accomplishment surpasses other historically successful Premier League sides such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

Liverpool's ability to win at different venues can be attributed to their excellent performance against teams that were either newly promoted or in the process of moving to a new stadium. For instance, the club secured victories at Barnsley and Swindon Town during their sole campaigns in the top flight. They also emerged victorious at Bolton Wanderers' old Burnden Park, Middlesbrough's former Ayresome Park, and Sunderland's ex-home Roker Park before these teams relocated to new grounds, where Liverpool continued their winning streak.

Despite their remarkable record, there are still four stadiums where Liverpool has yet to taste victory in the Premier League era. One of these is Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium, where they were held to a 3-3 draw in September 2021 and suffered a 3-1 defeat in January 2023. Another challenging venue for Liverpool is Nottingham Forest's City Ground, where they have drawn three times and lost three times in their six visits. The first defeat at this stadium occurred in Liverpool's inaugural Premier League game in August 1992.

Bloomfield Road, the home of Blackpool, is another ground where Liverpool has failed to secure a win. In Kenny Dalglish's first official game as Reds boss during his second stint, Liverpool suffered a 2-1 loss in January 2011. The most recent stadium where Liverpool has yet to win is Luton's ground, where they managed a 1-1 draw in November thanks to a dramatic injury-time equalizer by Luis Diaz.

Liverpool's upcoming matches provide an opportunity for them to improve their record at these remaining stadiums. With their dominance in the Premier League and their determination to address any shortcomings, Liverpool aims to continue their winning streak and further solidify their position as one of the most successful clubs in English football.
