Liverpool Tops Premier League in Kit and Merchandise Sales, Earns £113.1 Million in 2022/23 Season

Liverpool has emerged as the Premier League club with the highest earnings from shirt sales and merchandise, according to a report by UEFA. The true value of Liverpool's kit deal with Nike has been revealed, showing that the club agreed to a lower base rate than their previous supplier, New Balance. While the previous deal with New Balance earned Liverpool a minimum of £45 million per season, the new contract with Nike is reported to bring in a minimum of £30 million per season, with additional royalties on sales.

In the 2022/23 season, Liverpool earned an impressive £113.1 million from kit and merchandise sales, as reported by UEFA. This places them behind only Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich in Europe. Notably, Liverpool's earnings in this category surpassed those of Manchester United, who earned £111.3 million. Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Chelsea also generated significant revenue from kit and merchandise sales.

UEFA's figures suggest that Liverpool's royalty payments from Nike are worth over £80 million, with the agreement reportedly entitling Liverpool to 20 percent of all proceeds. However, it is unclear whether this includes additional payouts from sponsorships and advertising.

Despite a slight decrease in sales from the previous season, Liverpool's earnings from kit and merchandise sales remain substantial. The club's partnership with Nike, which began four seasons ago, is set to expire at the end of the next season.
