FSA Urges FA to Implement Premier League Ticket Pricing Rules for FA Cup

The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) has called on the Football Association (FA) to implement Premier League ticket pricing rules for the FA Cup. This comes after Manchester City announced ticket prices of up to £37.50 for Newcastle United fans attending their FA Cup Quarter Final match on March 16. The FSA argues that the FA should adopt the Premier League's cap on away ticket prices, which is set at £30. Currently, there is no such cap in place for cup competitions.

Newcastle United fans have previously been charged close to £40 by Manchester United and Chelsea for Carabao Cup matches this season, as well as by Fulham for an FA Cup clash in January. However, Blackburn Rovers charged just £20 for adult tickets during the last round of FA Cup games.

The FSA believes that the FA Cup should remain affordable for all fans and has urged the FA to implement the £30 cap on away ticket prices. They argue that the success of the cap in the Premier League has saved fans millions and ensured that away sections of stadiums are filled. The FSA posted on social media, stating, 'This might not be a Premier League game, but the FA Cup should never be used as an excuse to increase costs and exploit fans. Keep the #FACup affordable.'

Newcastle United last reached the FA Cup quarter-finals four years ago, where they faced Manchester City and lost 2-0 at St James' Park.
