777 Partners' Meeting with Premier League to Determine Everton Ownership

777 Partners, an American investment firm, is scheduled to meet with the Premier League this week in an effort to demonstrate their suitability as owners of Everton Football Club. The meeting aims to address further questions posed by the Premier League, with the hope of completing the takeover in March. However, the final decision on the ownership transfer will depend on the outcome of the owners' and directors' test. Following the meeting, an independent oversight panel of barristers will review the Premier League's decision to ensure due process has been followed.

777 Partners agreed to purchase majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri's 94.1% stake in Everton in September. Initially, they aimed to finalize the deal by the end of 2023. The Financial Conduct Authority and the Football Association have already granted their approval. However, the Premier League has raised concerns about 777 Partners, who also hold stakes in several other clubs.

Despite criticism of their ownership of other clubs, 777 Partners has provided Everton with a £190m loan for the construction of their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. Additionally, Everton faced a second charge for failing Profitability and Sustainability Rules, resulting in a deduction of six points after an appeal.
